Funny Bird

These birds are very pretty.  He was sitting in our front yard, and as I followed him to take pictures, he just casually walked away from me.  Slightly annoyed maybe that I kept following him.  What kind of bird is he I wonder?  Where are the bird experts?

Bald Eagle on the Trinity River, Trinity County

A few days ago I went to see how many more trees the beavers had claimed for their dam of the Trinity River.  They are very determined.  While I was down by the river, I think the eagle was hunting and I may have startled him/her.  Here are the pictures, honestly I am not even sure it is an eagle.  This one looks different, and has different colors than the ones I normally see.  What do you think?

Good Morning Everyone

The sun was rising a short time ago, and was quite beautiful. It has already disappeared behind the clouds again this morning.

October and Fall Colors in Trinity County

I took these photographs over the weekend during a short walk. The trees are so beautiful during the fall season, all the different colors. The leaves are falling rapidly and the nights are growing colder.

I cut my walks short though because I was a bit concerned with a bear being around. There is so much bear scat, and I have never hardly seen any before. I went for a walk but was too nervous because at the riverside there was more, and it was not there the day before.

Fall Leaves and Colors, Trinity County, California

I took this photo of a young maple tree in Trinity County, it had actually turned colors back in late August. I do so enjoy the fall colors, that arrive with the change of season.

One of the photos I altered in Photoshop and used one of the artistic filters in the program. I tried a few and I decided that I like the drybrush filter.

Beavers Taking Trees Down

I noticed that the beavers have almost accomplished taking another tree down. A fairly large one, I wish it would just fall.

This first picture is of all the trees that they are working on, to the right, the left, and in the front of the photo are all trees that have fallen. In the middle of the photo, you can see the two trees which make a V and these are the current trees being chewed on. Below are the pictures close up.

I did see a beaver swimming the other day, and about 12 ducks, but naturally I did not have my camera.

Star Thistles and Wild Flowers, Trinity County

These are probably some of the most painful stickers when walking on or through them. They are commonin the summer.

Beavers on the Trinity River

There are fresh water beavers and otters in the Trinity River. The beavers live along this patch of the river. These are current pictures of the latest fallen tree. The other day I actually saw a beaver in the river, well his head, and some branches he was moving also. I will work on getting a picture.

One more picture of the river, the beavers have not managed to dam it!

Blackberries in August

Blackberries along the Trinity River are just starting to turn black. Lots of them already are and ready to be picked.

Lily the Dog, Trinity River,

Lily loves the river, she does not swim and this is about as deep as she will go. She stays in the water for a long time, just looks for sticks and watches us in the river.

Fawns on the Trinity River

These two little fawns were near the river, their mother was close by eating. They were very cute when they saw their mother and ran towards her. They saw me and sat down again.

Beavers Again

Those beavers have been busy again on the Trinity river. The trees are still standing but they are slowing eating them away. I noticed there are many trees downs across the river, and I saw what I think is their home.

Darn Beavers

Those darn beavers in the river have attacked around five or six trees. Here are the pics. One tree has fallen and soon more may. How dare they!

I believe this is their home on the left.

November

It is hard to believe November is here, and time to turn back the clocks. The past two days have been rainy and cloudy in Redding, California. A nice change after all the sun, heat and fires. Here are some pics from last year at my parents house. I love the trees! I camped under those trees as a child. This is Lily's favorite place I am sure.
