Folsom Lake, California

These pictures are from last weekend. This is Folsom Lake in North/East Sacramento. It was a very hot and beautiful day and there was a triathlon! It was a great event! Good Luck to all the athletes in the final event coming up in May 2009!

Alexander Valley Road, Wine Country

This is Alexander Valley Road......

This vineyard was off of some random road off of Alexander Valley Road, north of Healdsburg, CA. The back road to Calistoga, and Napa Valley. Truly the heart of wine country in my opinion. Some of the best and most beautiful vineyards and wineries in the world. Clearly, they are not the oldest.

If you are in California and enjoy wine, you should not miss taking a drive through Sonoma County, especially in the spring.

You will see rolling hills of green, vineyard after vineyard, beautiful old trees, fresh water, spring flowers, and of course spacious blue skies!

Alexander Valley, Sonoma County

I was visiting my Grandmother in Sonoma county over the holiday and took a short trip to the Russian River off of Alexander Valley Road. A very beautiful drive on a spring day. We stopped at the river, and enjoyed the sun for some time.

Lilac Bush in Shasta County

The lilacs were looking very beautiful in the morning light and I

took these photographs. I especially love the lilac's against the

blue sky. They also smell wonderful in the house as fresh cut

flowers.

Sacramento River, Caldwell Park

This was at the Sacramento River at Caldwell Park, where the dam is. There are also train tracks which are high up above the river it is pretty neat when the train goes by.

Blue Heron on the Trinity River

The other weekend I had the pleasure of viewing the river otters, the bald eagles, and a blue heron on the Trinity river. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of the otters and bald eagles this time, I did manage get a couple photographs of the Blue Heron for you.

They are very graceful, yet very awkward at the same time. This bird did not seem to mind the dog and I we were far enough away, he merely moved to another branch when he noticed us (Lily and I). As he moved his wings I captured some of the blue color, other wise, he blends pretty well with the brush.

Shadow of Myself

As the sun was rising the other morning I was taking pictures of the river, and I noticed my shadow. I took a couple photographs at the time. Later when I was downloading I found the shadow photographs more interesting than those ones taken of the river that morning.
