Phil in October

Phil has been hanging about lots.  Mostly making sure no other cats get on the porch or in the yard for that matter.  He is a very protective kitty, not only does he protect his own house, he is watching out for ours too.  What a trooper!  :-)

I often see him sitting alert in the middle of the street, covering all bases that way.  Many times though he is just hanging on the porch.

Sleeping in the sun.

Kitty Climbs the Willow Tree

This cat can get kinda crazy when we go outside and go for walks.  Quite often she will getting a running start and jump up into a tree.  Doesn't matter what kind of tree, pine, willow, cherry, pear, she will manage to climb it.

I took photos of her one day in the willow tree, which is over thirty years old.

Taking a walk with the cat.

Tacoma will go for a walk anytime.  If you put on your shoes and ask her to go for a walk, she is right there ready to go.  Someone left her near the property years ago. It took a long time for her to even let anyone touch her.  Now that is the opposite, and she is quite the lap cat.

Lily we will miss you greatly!

About 8 years ago my mother went to the pound.  She found a pretty white dog.  The people at the pound said she was "euth approved".  My mom thought that meant she was "youth approved" and therefore, good with children.  No, it actually meant she was going to be put down.  Lily came home with my mom the next day.  Low and behold she was "youth approved" and just about the best dog anyone could ask for around children.

Here are some of my photographs of Lily.  I hope she is doing what she loves and happy where she is, fetching sticks from the river, eating whatever she wants, and chasing cats.

After camping at Mt. Lassen, lots of ash dirt.

Lily at Limantour beach.

Lily loved Helene Creek.

One of her best friends.

Lily Looking for Sticks in the Trinity River

We never knew Lily had such a passion for retrieving sticks from the water. She will wade in the water and look around for sticks for hours. Does she realize that I am throwing them in for her?

Lily the Dog, Trinity River,

Lily loves the river, she does not swim and this is about as deep as she will go. She stays in the water for a long time, just looks for sticks and watches us in the river.

Tacoma the Cat goes for a walk.

I usually take Lily the dog for a walk. Last week she had up to three walks a day so I thought it was the cats turn. She loves to go walking and far too. She will walk quite a bit. She stops every few seconds and listens as if there were some grave danger every step we take. She is a hilarious cat!

This is an old pic of Lily at Limantour Beach north or San Francisco, in Marin County. This is a beautiful beach and very often empty.

Lily Fishing for Sticks in the Trinity River

Lily enjoys retrieving sticks of many sizes from the Trinity River. She likes this particular beach because it is shallow and she can wade far out.

Phil - The Neighbor Cat

Here is Phil. I called him Batman the other day! That was my cat's name, Phil looks like him except his hair is shorter. Batman enjoyed bringing home dead bird's and bat's as gifts. That was very lovely! Oh yes, and the time he put a rat on the pillow next to my ex in the bed. Now that was a very special gift! Batman was the funniest cat ever!

Tacoma the Cat

My dad's cat is so funny! She is very skittish around strangers, but very trusting once she knows you. She does love to take walks, she is like a dog. When you mention walk and put your coat and shoes on she knows, it's time.

Lily

My Mom's dog eats very well. She is allergic to beef. Or so we think. She gets duck, venison, and fish meals, Natural Balance is the brand name.

What is great about Lily, is that she eats almost all vegetables and many fruits. I am sure she will eat anything that is not good for her too. Last night she had fresh beets, tomato, and some pear.

This morning she had some carrots to snack on. Her favorite is tomatoes, and she eats them right off my plant!

Luke the Goat

This is Luke the goat, not sure what kind of goat he is. He is taking care of some extra weeds on my dad's property. He seems to like the fruit and vegetable scraps that I give him.
