Children's Pool in La Jolla, San Diego

The La Jolla, Children's pool, also call the Casa, was built originally for the children of La Jolla to have a pool  and beach of sorts that was protected for them to swim in.  The wall which I am standing on and taking photos of, protected the beach.  Over the years the pool has changed and the sand has filled in the pool area.  It is still a popular place to relax, especially for the seals.

Today you will find the children's pool has been overtaken by seals.   Roped off to the public, the seals are perfectly happy with that, they continuing to linger and lounge on the beach.  I am sure some of the residents would like their beach back at some point.

Chicken Ranch Beach, Inverness, Marin County

Father's Day was a beautiful day out in Inverness, on Tomales Bay in Marin County. The day was sunny, and gorgeous. This is a wonderful beach for children as it is flat, and shallow, and mostly just sand and sea shells. We took a trip across the bay also to buy some fresh Manila clams. They were absolutely delicous!

This last picture is of an Osprey diving in the water for a fish. He dove down quite a few times but we never saw him come back up with a fish. After reading some I find out that they are known for being in the Tomales bay area.

Trinidad and Tobago

One of my most memorable trips anywhere was to Trinidad and Tobago. It is most enjoyable due to all the beautiful beaches there! Here are pictures of Tobago followed by Trinidad.

Lake Tahoe, West Shore and North Shore

Photographs of beautiful lake Tahoe. If you never have been you should go. Summer or winter Tahoe is paradise!

I spent a couple of nights with a friend in Berkeley and this was the view from my bedroom window. It was very hot that day and I liked how the tree looked in the sunset.

Sutter Butte Mountain Range

Known as the smallest mountain range in the world. I stopped off of Interstate 5 sometime back and it was a beautiful spring day. The smallest mountain range was in the distance, so I took a few photographs. It was a pretty hazy day.

Highway 20, Calistogo, Middleton

This is off of Highway 29 heading from Alexander Valley Road, Calistoga to Middleton. This is one of the more curvy mountain roads, in northern California. At the top of the mountain is the Robert Lewis Stevenson State Park. Supposedly on a clear day from the peak you can see Mt. Shasta!

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park is the place where the famous author of Treasure Island and Kidnapped spent his honeymoon in 1880. Although nothing remains of Stevenson’s cabin, the site is identified on the trail to the summit.

Olampoli Park, Marin County

Olampoli State Park, Highway 101, California

This beautiful state park is so easy to miss off of highway 101 north of San Francisco south of Petaluma. Believe it or not the rock band Grateful Dead lived here in 1966 and Janis Joplin has been known to have stayed here. The grounds are amazing with beautiful old trees, gardens, an old fountain, and many historical signs explaining the history of the site. There are wild turkeys on the grounds also. If you prefer to just take a hike up the mountain you can do that too. There is also a huge Try Pot, which I included a picture about the history of this pot.

Emeryville Marina in April

These pictures are from my trip to Berkeley a week or so ago. I had a wonderful time, the weather was unusually hot! It was nice to be in the bay area and actually be in the middle of a heat wave.

Seattle

I went to Seattle a couple of years ago and these are the pics that I took. I do enjoy the city, it is very beautiful.

Chico, Upper Bidwell Park

I managed to make a trip out to Bidwell Park in Chico, CA. It was a beautiful December day, so I took drive to Bear Hole, where I used to swim in the summer time. Actually I used to swim at Salmon Hole more, but that was a bit more of a hike.

Sacramento River

I took these pictures near Corning, at the Woodson Bridge Park on the Sacramento River.
This is a great place to stop and rest, stretch out the legs, and just enjoy the view.

Sunset, Lake County

This was an absolutely beautiful sky and sunset on the rolling hills of of Highway 20.

Elk off of Highway 20

Some time ago I took these pictures of Elk in some fields on the way through Lake County, California, Highway 20. The elk were very majestic. This was the first time I had seen any in the area.

Bodega Bay, California

Another very picturesque place in California is Bodega Bay, north of San Francisco, on the Pacific Ocean. Here are a few pictures of coast in September.

Highway 20 Vista Point

This is a great place to stop and take in the view on Highway 20, heading towards Truckee, and Tahoe. I have stopped here several times. I am not sure what mountain top that is in the distance.
