Wild Onions in the neighborhood, Shasta County

 
Allium triquetrum is the name of the flower or wild onion.


I am very fond of this wild flower which is actually more known as a weed.  It grows in most the valley areas of northern California, and the name is Allium triquetrum or as I like to say, wild onion.  A friend once told me this, and I always think of her when I see these pretty flowers, which I believe are edible onions too. But I would be careful where I get them from.  

My friend is traveling today and I hope the weather improves in the south east and she has a wonderful spring vacation.
